Queens Museum of Art

Obwohl ich in den vergangenen Jahren schon öfter mal in New York war, habe ich es bislang nie nach Queens geschafft. Da ich aber dieses Mal nicht nur für 3 Tage, sondern mehr als eine ganze Woche in der Stadt bin, war es gestern Zeit Manhattan zu verlassen und einen weiteren Stadtteil von New York kennen zu lernen. Even though I've been to New York City a couple of times in the last few years I have never made it to Queens. But since my visit this time is for more than a week instead of only 3 days, yesterday was the time to leave Manhattan and check out another part of the city. Our destination was the Flushing Meadows Corona Park...

Mitten im Park befindet sich das Queens Museum of Art, wo man die aus dem Film "New Years Eve" bekannte Panorama Ausstellung besuchen kann. Zwar dauert die Anreise schon ein wenig länger, vor allem wenn man so wie wir ohne Smartphone unterwegs ist, aber ein kleiner Abstecher dorthin lohnt sich in jedem Fall. Für nur 2,50 Dollar (Studentenpreis) kann man für kleines Geld ganz New York von oben betrachten und die Stadt somit genau unter die Lupe nehmen. Wenn man also etwas mehr als nur ein paar Tage in der Stadt ist, sollte man das Museum unbedingt in Erwägung ziehen...

The Queens Museum of Art is in the middle of the park and includes the Panorama exhibition which you might know from the movie "New Years Eve". Although the trip to go there is a little bit time consuming (especially when you don't carry a smartphone with you...like we did), it definitely is worth the effort. For only 2,50 Dollars (for students) you can see all of New York from above and therefore take a very close look at evrything. So if you're in the city for more than a couple of days you should consider checking out Queens...
